Out of the Reeds of Birth

Born of a last-ditch effort
Stretched to doing the right thing
The outcome was inevitable
As the tape holding together
Peeled off at the end of the day
And in the meantime
A poor example played out
To surrender happiness
In all the attempts to suit others
Last in the serving of self-love
Bliss an unattainable dream
Believed only meant for others
And fiercely attempting to provide it
To the ungrateful heads turned away
Discovery of the dysfunctional
A berserk journey within
To desperately fix the broken
To put together a life of some sort
Rudder tangled in weeds of frenzy
A pause and deep breath to reboot
Slow the internal mapping of landscape
To absorb that which is a true reflection
No external forces to influence or distract
Quiet solitude to find acceptance
A purpose unique and bespoke
Chart a course for one’s own benefit
Enriching all that surrounds
