The Roses Have Dried

The roses of our relationship
Long turned to potpourri
Dead and crumbling
Sweet aromas of happy memories
Linger in reminiscence
Of times we paid attention
Years we celebrated an anniversary
Like dried petals on the wind
We drifted in different directions
The honeymoon flowers faded
And all that is left now is a stink
But I shall gather myself together again
For I am a splendid bouquet
And supply my own nourishment
May your path too
Be abundant with blossom
For I know I once loved you
And you loved me too
