The pulse that throbs in my neck
One bouncing in the blue vein at my wrist
As your mild aftershave awakens my endorphins
Hidden by the bow of my head avoiding eye contact
Blushed cheeks turned slightly to the side
Hands twisted, arms stretched down my front
The outside elucidates the tangled condition inside
But I try not to allow your blatant effect on me visibility
In this game of cat and mouse when first meet
Each holding our hearts behind cautious barriers
Afraid of pain, afraid of hurt, but hopeful
