I Fell In

I reached out and it grabbed my hand
Pulled me in and took me on a journey
Lonely sadness forgotten as I ran and crawled
Cried, laughed and celebrated
I made friends and watched them grow
I cheered their success
Mourned their losses, their failures
I grew
I learned
I had a new understanding
And now as I close the back cover
I am bereft
For a time this was not fiction
It could not be because
I was there
I felt it
I lived it
