The sun shining
Out of the azure sky
Stole my blues away
Those that crept in
During the navy nights of darkness
The fear, anxiety and pain
Debilitating paralysis
Of worries
Shoulders burdened
Back hunched
In self preservation
From ice-blue waters
Flowing through my veins
Freezing forward motion
Stalling decisions
Painting the world cold
Tinting my days
The warmth that gently caresses
Lifts me up from my grave
Melts the depression
Sunk into my DNA
