I exercise restraint in jumping up and down
Raising fists into the air and shouting
This frustration with the state of things
I am flummoxed at the blatant behaviour
Unconcealed corruption and power trips
That is allowed to continue unabated
Great positions precipitating an even greater arrogance
Open mouth of shock and amazement
Although by now I should have become accustom
The humanity inside of me is deeply injured
To the core of my heart and my being
That this is even happening
When did we forget one another, to be more
And kicking sand on top of others already sinking
