I drag myself from my bed
The sight of the kitchen daunting
The drudgery of clean up duty
After the enjoyment of the party
Where oh where to begin
This unenviable task
That could easily send me back to bed
Or to the garden with a good book
So many better things to do
Than clean up this awful mess
At least it’s paper plates
That only need to be tossed
Into the nearest big black bin bag
Of which there is more than one
Coffee first
I need a burst of energy to get his done
Or a magic wand
