Many Friendships

I was fortunate to meet up for lunch with two old – the length of our friendship not their age – friends yesterday. Five hours disappeared in the blink of an eye and my soul was full. So blessed and grateful.

Sprung from many different places
Like a colourful bouquet of wildflowers
Some wither and die faster than others
Some frozen in a solution of forever
Perfumes mixed with odorous lessons
Sunny sunflowers brightening the day
Dandelions bring wishes and hope
The freshness of daisies cheer
Seasonal cosmos come for a reason
Spiky aloes bear beauty and warning
All to enrich this life that we live
Blessed with their gift
Whatever their purpose
Make time to foster and grow
For without consideration and nurture
None will remain for very long
