A decision or choice set in stone
But it seems to be that of soap
That melts and withers away
At the first sign of rain or trouble
Chisel the face of the future
To be better than yesterday
But this resolution does not stay
It froths into a mountain of bubbles
Blown easily away
Without a trace of their determination
Nothing at all remains
Except perhaps guilt, and feeling failure
At more that is left unachieved
So leave these foamy promises unmade
Instead make deliberate plans
And step each day a little closer
To the destiny of these finite objectives
With a purpose at hand
