I search for a lantern
To find my way through life
An apprentice to the art of living
Learning to fulfil my purposes
To parent
To adult
To be
Just to be
Light illuminated
In each new discovery
Growth in applying this knowledge
Turning through the spiral stairs
Sometimes overwhelmed by kerosene
Singed or fully burned
To learn to care for myself
Be gentle with my soul
Allow the path to unwind
Practice patience with the one that is me
Show love that I give so easily to others
And shine my inner light out into the world
