Talking to You

Burgundy drop earrings beckoning for my wear
I know your presence is nearby me this morn
To hold my hand and drive with me
Incognito as nature’s breath of fresh air
Feedback to my conversation imagined
Those without my beliefs will argue it
Crazy woman talking to herself they’ll say
But I no longer give their judgement power
For I am too busy making this connection
Conversing with your soul and listening
For though you’ve been gone so many a year
I know that I only need to reach out
And you’ll still be there for me
To help me navigate these missing steps
Release this heavy baggage I have travelled with
