Emerald green shoots peeping out
Early bloomed orange Clivias bob their heads
In the breeze with a breath of snow
Capricious weather dusting a final white coat
Before the sun comes close and singes our skin
Lawn soon to be begging for the blade
When the spring rains drench the dust
That has lined our lungs through winter
But now our sneezes are courtesy of spores
Grass and flowers sending tickles into the air
Our airways inflamed by these invisible tentacles
