Feet on the Ground Here

Seven days before you
Seven days behind you
How many weeks have you lived?
How many have you existed?
How many have you simply endured?
Surely there is more to this
Where is the pizazz that happiness ignites?
Dancing in the kitchen with no music at all
Singing in the shower to the water drops
Faded with life, responsibility, or age
Or just waiting for us to choose this option
Seek out the little things to find joy in
Instead of curling into ourselves in despair
Listen to the music, see the sunrise
Hear the birdsong, and breathe
Don’t fight for the air, let it come naturally
Let everything simply be
Come back to today
Don’t wander in yesterday’s problems
Or wonder in tomorrow’s troubles
Because they aren’t there
Unless you place them

  1. So true Debbie especially the last lines. My favourite lines –
“Listen to the music, see the sunrise
    Hear the birdsong, and breathe”
Thanks for joining in 🙂 🙂
