Snaked Your Way In

Like a snake licking the air
Your ambrosial scent calls to me
Slithered and crawled into my heart
Transference of warmth and soul
In life’s eternal endeavour
To awaken the rhythmic harmony
Injection of oxytocin and dopamine
You are the high to my endorphins
Our symbiosis too perfect for science
Order of the natural world
Allowed to follow its path unimpeded
No skins shed and no replacements
For you are mine and I am yours
Together the venom and the antidote
Always for one another
