If I ironed out all my wrinkles
Would I be more acceptable to thee?
Strive for your version of perfection
Would that make you love me?
How can I achieve that which you want?
How am I to be your ideal mate?
The irony of it all is that I’m not
Because in this futile endeavour
To fit into a little box of your desires
I’m losing the special that makes me unique
I’m bending and shaping, and in the end breaking
To be a picture that isn’t a bit of reality
So, I am going to allow my wrinkles to re-form
For my folds to fall back into place
And embrace the magic that I am
And allow the world to send me the one
Who fits my imperfections naturally
