Sparkling silver steel sharpened blades
Of the banshee’s cry, a slicing laser light
Through my head and my heart
The song calling for you to die
To leave us always sooner than we wish
The refrain, a reminder of life’s circle
Repeated pattern of breath to relinquish
Like butterflies released to their freedom
A love that will live only in memory
But with a beauty of excited anticipation
Swirled in the mixture of melancholic missing
A marbled continuing of existence
Until our eternal paths overlap once again
