It started with a slur
Words that she couldn’t find
More drifted into the forgotten
And it became a giant blur
Love hid behind anger and frustration
At missing puzzle pieces of memory
Family and friends became strangers
And her beautiful, gracious manner
Stuttered and jerked along
Letting go of this life gradually
Before she could transition
To peace and tranquillity
And watch over her loved ones
With the angels once again
