Buzzsaw of Erosion

I know you are aware that they are mighty trees
The ones that give you shade and block the light
From your new sparkling aluminium windows
Or the great oak that stands in the spot
Where you have deemed perfect to erect
Your newest project or latest dwelling
Oh it is just a tree and you can grow more
But those are words because you don’t plant any
How many years have those taken to rise
The one your buzzsaw is biting into bit by bit
Will you burn it in your cold winter’s grate
Make sturdy furnishings to seat yourself on
Or toss the chips back to the ground
This is in observance to their demise at your hand
Your progress clearly more important in their path
Until your earth washes or blows away
Because the more you chop the scars you leave
The less protection is offered to your foundations
