In the foggy mist I see your ghost
The tragedy of your long-ago loss
Slightly faded into smoky white wisps
Of trying to carry on with life
Still living here on Earth
But your memory
Never far from instant recall
The occasional surprise doppelganger
A trick of the lonely mind
Recognizing your soul by my side
With a peace washing over me
Knowing that you’re always nearby
