Your prompt for JusJoJan January 18th, 2022, is “cycle.” Use the word “cycle” any way you’d like. Have fun!
In the drum of the washing machine
My chest and gut like wrung laundry
Weighed down, heavily soaked at times
Then spun dry of any more tears
The struggle of balance in life
A constant rocking see-saw
From one extreme to the other
When one side is loaded with responsibilities
Which never seem to end
Drowned in the soapy waters
An upside-down world in the turning drum
Sending life into chaos and confusion
Everything seeming to be on its head
Then hung to dry out our soggy emotions
That have capsized our sanity
Trying to survive the repeated washing cycle
In the overwhelm of functioning
