In falsified revelry through pain
In search of societal approval
True loneliness grows unchecked
Rampant weeds watered by unshed tears
Tendrils of this other untrue being
Buried deeper into actual existence
Until real and fake cannot be differentiated
Imitation eclipses a forgotten authenticity
And the struggle of exile surrendered
To the new persona in control
Resisting reminders of a long-buried individual
In a jet-black grave excavated
By compromise for acceptance
An unease that never truly sleeps
