Untangle Yourself

Don’t be caught in the cobwebs of gossip
For you never know when it is turned
And you are the topic of tainted conversation
The experimental subject of people’s opinions
See just how it feels to roll off your tongue
Would you shudder if the subject heard you
If that is the case, then think before you speak
Be kind, compassionate and empathetic
For the picture that you know might be cropped
And the full one could change your mind
But what should it matter when talking about another
Let it be love for humanity that shapes your words

  1. We never know the whole story. When my brother cursed and flipped off a speeder passing him precariously, I suggested that maybe the speeder’s wife was stretched out on the back seat, having her final contractions before giving birth to a child they’d been trying (and failing) to have for decades, and that the speeder was aiming for the hospital ASAP.

Gossip is the least of it. We all need to be more humanely human.
    Thanks for this compassionate insight.
