The Healer

Face in the dirt
From tangled shoelaces
Woven by conundrums
Truth and confusion
But your energy lifts me
From the arid winter dust
Scratching in my throat
Coughing and spluttering
I sought your expertise
The magic of your gifts
In invisible powerful form
I have faith in the gurgle
The twitch and the twinge
Your ethereal ministrations
Bring to my body, mind and soul
The shifts I know occur
In the lightness of breathing
And the return of sparkling hope
A gratitude I cannot express
Nearly eloquently enough
To measure the greatness
The effect on my day and my life

  1. You had me at the first few lines Debbie. My favourite lines –
    “The shifts I know occur
    In the lightness of breathing
And the return of sparkling hope
    A gratitude I cannot express”
Thanks for joining in 🙂 🙂
