Rebuilt on the Floor

The screws of life rattle loose
More pressure shakes and stresses
And just a light breeze can blow
All of the pieces scattered apart
Devastated and destroyed in collapse
Lamed and paralysed by sheer exhaustion
Of trying to hold kilter and stay together
Succumbing we concede the loss of control
Depleted and defeated by the battle
Of survival and the constant aim of success
We collapse to the emerald green shag
Of earth’s glorious soft covering carpet
Eyes closed to the warm light of the sun
And in her soil, we deposit our ashes
Absorb vibrations of unseen energy
To rise, recharged and renewed
By the gravel and the grit of Mother Nature
From the belly of her fertile forest floor
Ready to create a peaceful thriving life
With feet grounded in the dust of her coat

  1. So fabulous Debbie. My favourite lines –
“By the gravel and the grit of Mother Nature
From the belly of her fertile forest floor
Ready to create a peaceful thriving life
With feet grounded in the dust of her coat”
Thanks for joining in 🙂 🙂
