In the whirlwind of disruption
I beg for a brick in each pocket
To keep me close to the ground
Tethered to a semblance of sanity
Burrowing roots deeper in the earth
Twisting and attaching to her stone
That I don’t dangle and flail in the air
Lost and confused in the chaos of life
Susceptible to the whim of the breeze
That I may absorb her streams of clarity
To wash enlightenment over me
And know this path to be perfectly mine
And be grateful for my retained connection
To that which is truth
To that which is joy
To that which is harmony
In the silence and symphony of my life
