Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “may.” Use it any way you’d like. Have fun!
Cold creeping over my skin
Into the marrow of my sturdy bones
Crimson and orange leaves blowing in the wind
Fading and dying, ground into the earth
As we scurry from the cutting chill stabbing at us
Kissing our lips with blue and purple frost
To bring back to ruby red life with love
Wrapping in fleece and wool armour
Trying to keep the icy tendrils of winter out
Season of killing and freezing life and time
To wipe out the dusty dry heat and bug life
Until new beginnings sprout once again
In September’s sunshine and warm caress
As the layers of defence are peeled off
To greet the world again after hiatus
Hope, possibility and blossoms return
Fresh start to grow, develop and thrive
