Open your arms and swallow me whole
Let me drown in every note that you ebb
For I cannot seem to strike the right one
And choose instead to escape into yours
Your melody a temporary peaceful remedy
To the painful wrongs of the world and me
My body will wave with your calming cadence
And my chest will quiver under your vibrato
And I will be blissfully lost for a little while
In the life stories of these magical artists
Rolling and rumbling in their beautiful words
Breathing in life, hope and encouragement
Building strength to venture back to reality
Where I can waltz with the rhythm of time
Move my feet in the beat of my own dance
And feel no remorse at my masterpiece
For it is lived, it pulses and is mine
