Trying to see the upside of life
Through the storms that ravage my soul
Constantly beat back to my knees
Bone weary spirit has no more fight
Sleep the only thing I’m longing for
Shut out the world and its challenges
Dream of today’s absolute impossible
In the most adoring positive light
Where fantasy and magic are all real
And life is a beautiful gentle breeze
And my experiences always
The softest of feather-light chiffon
Flowing in the kindness of life
Fluttering in all that is wonderful
But in the dawn I finally awaken
To the fragility of such a brittle existence
For an easy sail does not make strong
Because practicing powerful strength
Is what builds much more of it
That have faced these challenges
Through a million and one heartbeats
And will take me to a million more
For delicate and breakable
Has never described me
And I just needed to remember that
