Finding My Place

Duck out of water
No direction or place
Stumbling on my feet
Or perhaps they’re webbed
Waddling through life
And just when I think
I have the walking thing down
Or the paddling at best
The blue lake disappears
And I’m back on land
Lost once more
Not sure where I’m going
Trying to discover
What it’s all about
And how to feel
Like I’m at peace again
Or maybe for the very first time
I want to understand ease
Experience the deafening calm
Of a life understood
With easy steps
To the right places
That bring joy and satisfaction
That let me know where I’m at
Where I feel that I have made it
Where I feel that I am home
Where I feel I finally belong
