When bark meets my backbone
I am home
Propped against a majestic tree
I know support and calm
In the speckled shade of her canopy
Hands planted on grass
Above her anchoring roots
I am grounded
Encouraged to be tall in my stature
To never cower before anyone
For I too am majestic and beautiful
From the natural order of things
May we learn to find harmony
In each of our frequencies
A melody together and apart
We can reach for the sky
Be it blue
Be it grey
Be it black
It is no ceiling nor limit
She is my example of what can be
And my haven of sanctuary
In her gentle rustle in the breeze
She whispers her secrets to me
You do not continuously need to grow
Take rest in the cold of your winter
To heal and repair
Though some branches may fall
And leaves depart from you
Hold out your arms for possibilities
Remain steadfast for what you stand
Rooted in a nutrient rich environment
That supports while you grow
And provide a home in your heart
Where others may come to share

What a beautiful connection between human and tree. A breathtaking poem well done! I love nothing more than to climb the big Linden tree in the woods and sit in boughs and just be one with nature.

Thank you. I get the family to stop when we’re in the game reserve just so that I can look at a tree. 🤣 They think I’ve spotted an animal. I love trees.
Have a fantastic day.

Can you imagine us tree huggers on a game drive? So what did you see today? A thorn tree, a Baobab… 🤣
