Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “above/below.” Use one, use both, use ’em however they inspire you. Bonus points if you use them both. Enjoy!
Wander in the forest of trees
Thought I was lost to these
But above the birds sing
Raising my head up high
From the misery of darkness
That I might plunge into below
I see the brightness of light
The magic of the sun and stars
For they are out there always
Even if invisible until night
My illumination a reflection
Of the moon and the day sky
Of joy and time gone by
It will glisten when the hour is right
And in the meantime
I explore my shadows
Find their eternal damning source
And shed a bright glow
To release the cloud forever
That misery and melancholy
Might be the exception instead
Of a constant downcast rule
Working
…
One crippling black hole at a time
That I might know more brilliance
And find the infinite peace and calm
Of the magical universe that expands me

this part,
“That I might plunge into below

The magic of the sun and stars”
Reminds me of a few posts I did ago, on the John Lennon song, Instant Karma and “We all shine on, like the moon, the stars, and the sun”
Here’s my post on the challenge: https://humblebuthumorous.com/2021/02/13/keeping-warm/
