Immature

They lionize the cut of a face
The sultry curve of a waist
And ignore the content of the soul
She is made to feel less than
Inferior to the aesthetically appealing
Shamed for flaws and imperfections
To the outer covering of her being
An armour made tough for appearance
Where she hides the pain of her feelings
To write in her personal book of secrets
In an attempt to release its influence
As the young girl is yet unmatured
To discard the stinging opinion of others
In her continual battle to belong
To be accepting of what she finds in the mirror
No matter the words of others
