Listening To My Soul

My joking rapscallion
Tender spot of my heart
Knowing me deeply
When I have no words
When I have no wish
Standing quietly waiting
Should I have a need
Should I have a sigh
Or a tear or two
Holding space for me
To wade through my emotions
As necessary
Your age no sign of maturity
But of ingenious wisdom
Greater than years
The young comforts the old
Filled with laughter
Filled with compassion
And overflowing with love
Precious listener to my soul

    1. Thanks.

These are blogs that give daily prompt words that I include in my poems and then link back to – FOWC is Fandango’s One Word Challenge and RDP is Ragtag Daily Prompt. If you click on them they will take you to the individual blogs in question.

      Have a beautiful day.
