I just wish to see a modicum of remorse in your eyes
When you tell me that you’re so very sorry
For they are the windows of the soul and the truth
If you don’t feel it in your bones it doesn’t mean anything
Words are the first things that come to mind
And the more complex the tale that you weave
The less I am going to believe
For a colour tapestry is a beautiful thing
If it isn’t being used to cover up something
My fear of losing always held total honesty back
But it’s not worth keeping
If a shadow always hangs over it
Let the vibrancy shine in the light of the truth
And let the chips fall where they need to
Because it will always be where it is meant
In the peaceful sleep of transparency
It lifts the heart from suffocating
Under the unsaid and the unclear
To a brand-new day of magnificence
Shoulders back and upright in the strut of contentedness
With a butterflies floating step
Faced with the beauty of inner peace
