Why So Quiet?

To the quiet one melting into the shadows
I see you
For we share the same hiding place in the shade
I see you
Watching the noise that unfolds around you
I see you
Disappear into a fantasy world when this one is too much
And the curiosity of others accentuates your silence
For they do not understand and thus need to attack
Label strange and problematic your desire to be still
But I see you
I now comprehend
I wish to be you
With fewer opinions taken to chords
Less drama to be sucked into
And a peace in mere observation
So I do defend when others question
Your home in the twilight
Your sanctuary in the hush
For it has become my place of bliss
