Working With Intuition

Juice beads of effort pour from my brow
Hard work never killed anyone they say
But it is all futile if there is no direction
I do not exist to cover each road on the map
In the hope of arriving at a destination I like
I also do not rigidly venture with a compass
In only one inflexible chosen direction
Bashing through all that I encounter
Missing interesting and important detours
For the fact of staying on course
I travel with intent and a sense of adventure
But I fit with the flow when the occasion needs
Instinct and intuition my loyal guides
Whom I defer to at crossroads of consternation
For I am meant to survive and to thrive
And enjoy the trip
