You Know

Cover your ears
Listen
Listen with your heart
Listen with your instinct
Words carried by the wind
Corrupted and distorted
Received through filters
Of experience and assumption
Preconceived notions
Subconscious intentions
Lies that we tell ourselves
Doleful selfishness
To garner attention
A cry for love denied
Hearing entangles the truth
For that only exists
In the centre of the core
The knowing that is there
That is oft’ ignored
Step aside and know
