Nothing by half measure
My heart doesn’t drift slowly
It is yanked and broken
In a matter of minutes
A twig unconsciously trod
Dry snapping echoes
Long into the darkness
Epic shattered splinters
Still falling haphazardly
Wondering if I will ever find
Each shard
To build it back again
But I know
It will never be the same
No longer stout adventurer
Leaping to the void
For though it can repair
The cells have memory
And this carelessness
Is imprinted in the foam
That I now cushion it with
While you continue
Unaware

That is very emotional. I’m moved by the wonderful words that are put together with such emotions. Kudos to you. A wonderful poem indeed.
