Trying to be Happy

Peculiar penchant for sadness
Running in the blood vessels of my eyes
In the chemical composition of tears
Which leak from the ducts of restraint
Burned in my soul’s giant effort
To keep it together
Reason a misty vapour
Vanishes and disperses at first grab
Foundations and roots to the centre of earth
Intertwined in the stones of this orb
A chisel against a megalithic mountain
Of fears, doubts, insecurities and anxieties
That see no fractures of destruction
Needing a Richter scale seismic quake
To begin to dislodge the boulders
New ones being added
In the lack of understandable answers
As to the source of this misery
Or a resolution to the effects
Of a known enemy
