Left the zone many moons ago
My smile eclipsed by dark shadows
Gelid grip tightening around my heart
Like a plague the ice spreads
Sadness frozen in my bones
Movement slowing
Tear icicles hang on the inside
Trying to light a fire in myself
In a gusting snow storm
Gigantic effort goes unrewarded
Faint embers are dying out
No fight left to reignite a spark
For the battle feels a lifetime long
And exhaustion has set in
