Peeled bark, like skin
Revealing scars of knives
Forever love letters
Carved in wooden flesh
Many moons ago
The affection eroded
Sanded by inconsideration
Diverging paths in the forest
Names sworn to be joined
Only distant memories
In the stand of the tall tree
Though cut and injured
Still blossoms beautifully
For the central core
Flows the sap of life
Bringing new oxygen
New opportunity
New love

😆 ooh, I like the way you think. Great story nugget if you write thrillers, but I like to think a little more positively – cutlery from the picnic – hahaha. But why hurt the tree, it did nothing to them.
Thanks.
