Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “spay/splay/spray.” Use one, use two, use ’em all, it’s up to you. Have fun!
Splayed across my face
The feelings of my heart
I never could hide them
The whispers of my brain
Loud for all to decipher
Often too easy a task
I wish to spay my thoughts
Before they multiply
And I destroy relationships
But is this such a bad thing?
Should we not be honest
With those in our lives
A spray of authenticity
Refreshing scent
That we all say we look for
But is that really true?
Does everybody want to know?
White lies to spare feelings
Turmoiled cauldron of emotions
What is the right thing to do?
Take me as I am
Blunt and to the point
No matter the consequences
They shall be yours to bare
If you don’t accept me as I am
Is it the solution
Or do we tread lightly
For those of a sensitive nature?
Kid gloves for the offended
How to traverse these highways?
“It is me not you,”
Doesn’t always make up
For the acid that bleeds from your lips
So I continue to work on my poker face
