Melancholy Heart

My heart sings the blues
A haunting and eerie tune
Nightmares of what
I can’t remember
But something melancholy
Weighs down the notes
Classic signs of self-pity
But I can’t find the source
To eradicate this misery
Face possible suspects
And raise the tempo
Play a happier song
I so want to dance
A life in harmonious rhythm
With energy
With vigour
Peacefully
For that I continue to search
Question my inner mind
Until I find
The music box to my pain
So that I may silence it
