Faded

In memory of my mother who faded from earth 16 years ago today.

A mist in the mouth of the sun
Disappeared into memory
Took her vibrant energy
For a dance in the moonlight
And faded into darkness
Occasionally to tango
Across glazed eyes
As I wander for a moment
Back into the warmth
Following a trail of longing
In the etched crevices
Silenced by necessity
Should an aching heart
Overwhelm me
By remembering her vitality
