Different Joints

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “joint.” Use it as a noun, an adjective, or a verb–use it any way you’d like. Enjoy!

Lit up in a cloud of smoke
Or the slang for a place
And then there are those that creak
When old age sets in
Or acid sets them stiff
Making getting up difficult
Or simply doing anything
They ease the task of movement
That which has been curbed
Put into a cage for the moment
For your protection and mine
Surreal reality
The stuff of movies
But there are none
In love and the mind
Free to imagine better things
Better times
A better future
To travel in dreams
Send them to pretty places
To hopefulness
