Holding onto Confidence

The drowning of my doubt
Beneath the rising waters of my confidence
Leave only gurgled murmurs of protest
A voice rumbles from my core
Catches a piece of my heart
On the wave of a roar
A piece of my truth burst forth
Finally, for the world to hear
I am strong
I am able
I am enough
Never dead
Lurking in the shadows
Fears and doubts waiting to pounce
Any notion with the smallest tag
Of ambivalence or quake of sure feet
Grasped hold of
Unraveled to useless and incompetence
So I take hold
Keep my grasp tight
White knuckled clawing
To my surety, my trust,
To my esteem, my belief
I am strong
I am able
I am enough
