Perspective Shift

Balanced on a knife edge
Walking that thin line
My predicament may seem small
In light of the woes of the world
But for me it looms mountainous
Obscuring my view for all else
That which I focus on
Comes to me
But how do I do other
Life consumed whole
Like a snake at a rabbit buffet
But with no ability
To internally disassemble
Each part that makes it
Losing my footing
I am sliced open
Regurgitating the same
Crushed by the weight of it
Drowning in the acids
I’m stuck to see another perspective
Until swallowed by a new disaster
Worse than the latter
Focus, vision and priority shift
I now tolerate the past
As a normal part of life
When the light goes out of another
