The Consequence of Silence

Crater of great darkness
My words have fallen in
Like a seething volcano
I bubble and boil
Beneath the surface
Tongue scorched
By imagined vengeance
Your voice
Now merely annoying
The progress of my rage
In temperature increments
For I have lost the ability
Of rational conversation
Because I didn’t tackle this
At its first onset
Prepare for the lava
That I’m about to spew forth
Damage beyond repair
Due to my inability
To face conflict head-on
Dance with the consequences
Of direct communication
Now the fall out
Much greater and worse
