The Finished Beginning

It is almost the end
But just the beginning
It started with hope
Road maps and dreams
They will say that it finished
In less of a grand fashion
For we lose our energy
In the struggles and obstacles
No longer wishing to chat
Too exhausted to interact
Tired of dreary complaints
From the news
That wasn’t part of our plan
But though that is finished
We can start again
Never too late
To hope and dream again
And bring our experience
Through new eyes
And a different perspective
It doesn’t have to be
The same on repeat
