While frost nips at some Christmas toes
We dip ours in cool blue swimming pools
To quench the scorching summer heat
Of a Southern Hemisphere December day
Never snuggled up inside from the chilly snow
Nor bundled up against the extreme cold
My blood runs warm in this sunshine
But even our winters are mild to compare
I think next year I’d like to go build a snowman
Out of fluffy white flakes instead of beach sand
But then again, this is the time for family
And most of mine live in the sun
